Concept for a finished goods warehouse

We were commissioned to develop a concept for the storage of finished goods for a customer from South Africa.

So far, the logistics were distributed over three locations within a radius of 500 m, a main warehouse and two rental properties. With the purchase of a new location near the main warehouse, the warehouse structure will change in the future. A central challenge here is that the new location was originally built for production purposes and has very complex building structures. For this complex problem, we have developed a layout concept that enables a clear and efficient material flow.

In addition, our customer is struggling with inefficient processes, increasing staffing requirements and high error rates. The processes have so far been organized manually and without system support. On the basis of a process analysis and the definition of target processes, we have developed a concept for future logistics IT and designed the central functions of the warehouse management system.
